Privacy Policy
How the My Blues Radio mobile app handles information.
My Blues Radio (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our listeners. This Privacy Policy covers the My Blues Radio mobile app for Android and iOS. Our website is covered by a separate policy, available at mybluesradio.com/privacy-policy.
No personal data collection
The app does not collect personal information. There is no account, no registration, no sign-in and no user profile. You can listen without telling us anything about yourself.
No advertising and no tracking
The app contains no advertising. It does not use advertising networks, advertising identifiers, cookies, analytics or tracking software of any kind.
Our website does display advertising through Google AdSense. That is a separate service with its own policy, and it does not apply to the app.
Information stored on your device
A few settings are saved locally on your device so the app remembers them. They stay on the device, are never sent to us, and are removed when you uninstall the app:
- Your sleep timer setting
- Your display preferences, such as the theme
- A copy of this policy and the Terms of Use, so they can be read offline
- A count of how often you have used the app, used only to decide when to invite you to rate it
Connecting to the stream
To play the radio, the app connects to our streaming provider, Streemlion. Like any streaming server, their servers record standard technical connection details such as the IP address, the type of device and the connection time.
This information is used to deliver the audio, to keep the service stable and to count listeners. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not combine it with anything else.
The track title, artist and cover artwork shown in the app, and the Recent Tracks list, come from the same service. Requesting them sends no information about you.
Supporting the station
The app offers optional one-time tips to help cover the running costs of the station. They are entirely voluntary and unlock nothing.
Payments are processed exclusively by Apple or Google, depending on your device. We never see, receive or store your payment card details, billing address or any other payment information.
Links that leave the app
Some buttons open content outside the app, in your browser or in another app:
- Our website, including the track request form
- Our Facebook and Instagram pages
- The App Store or Google Play, when you choose to rate or share the app
Once you leave the app, the privacy policy of that website or service applies, not this one.
The sharing button uses the sharing feature built into your device. What happens next depends on the app you choose to share with.
Copyright and licensing
My Blues Radio operates from Ontario, Canada, and holds a music broadcasting licence through SOCAN (The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada). All music streamed through the app is covered by that licence.
Children’s privacy
The app is not directed to children under the age of 13. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect any from children either.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to give you access to, correct or delete.
Everything the app has saved is on your own device, and uninstalling the app removes all of it. For the technical connection records described above, contact us and we will point you to the right provider.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app. When we do, we revise the effective date above. Because the app reads this text from our server, you always see the current version.
